I år seglar jag Gotland runt ombord på Åländska X-332:an MyWay, FIN-9787. Skeppare är Michael Sundblom. Med ombord finns också Stefan Sundblom som jag lärt känna på MKS.

Jag hoppas hinna kommentera löpande här på bloggen. Vi seglar i klassen ORC INT ALFA och startar klockan 12:30 onsdag 7 juli. Tangosailing har gjort en analys av vår klass. Tävlingen kan följas från nedanstående länkar.

Nu är vi hemma igen efter en fantastisk segling. Varmt, mestadels lagom med vind, och tät segling. Jag åkte hela varvet runt i shorts och vi snittade 5.93 knop, trots två stiltjebälten. Vi seglade bra hela vägen men sumpade en pallplats i klassen från Visby och hem. Vi låg tvåa på omräknad tid i Visby då vinden hämtade båtarna som rundade 45 minuter före men glömde oss och alla andra som rundade senare. Vi tappade flera timmar på båtar som vi bara låg 45-75 minuter efter i Visby. Det var inte mycket vi kunde göra. Väl i Sandhamn slutade vi på en tiondeplats av 26 startande i klassen. Fast det var ännu snöpligare för X-332:an Xplorer som tappade en välförtjänt förstaplats i klassen. Hela resultatlistan för klassen hittar ni här. Sådan är handikappsegling till havs. Nästa gång är det vi som har möjlighet att positionera oss i rätt vädersystem. Då gäller det att också utnyttja den möjligheten 🙂

X-332 är verkligen en grymt fin båt. Känns väldigt konkurrenskraftig i de flesta förhållanden. Jämfört med Bandito är X-332:an mer en racer cruiser. Detta gör att Bandito är mer optimerad enbart för segling med gigantisk sittbrunn med gott om plats. Allt sitter på rätt ställe och inuti är hon tom och luftig. Otroligt fina båtar båda två. Men visst saknade jag det optimala arbetsutrymmet i Banditos sittbrunn och hennes franska hängpinne som man alltid har ett järngrepp om.

Vad gäller benet till Alma så seglade vi exakt på rhumbline. Vinden försvann för oss och båtarna bakom medan den förde de större båtarna som låg längre fram snabbt framåt och avstånden växte markant på väg mot Alma.
