Nu på måndag, 22:a februari, går starten till Carribean 600 och TeamHoffstedt är med på startlinjen ombord på Mikael Rykings Pogo 40S2, Talanta. Carribean 600 är en havskappsegling om 600 sjömil på en bana som tar oss runt bland öarna i Västindien – Antigua, Barbuda, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Anguilla, Saint-Martin och gamla svenskkolonin(1784–1878) St Barts med flera. Vi räknar med att ta oss runt banan på cirka tre dygn. Med ombord är skeppare Mikael Ryking, Karl Jungstedt, Mikael Vesala samt Kate Moore.
I vår klass är det ytterligare fyra Class 40-båtar. Väder och vind baseras på passadvindarna som styrs av ett högtryck som vanligtvis har sitt centrum i närheten av Azorerna. Förutom en hel del oförutsägbara squalls brukar det vara 25-28 grader i luften, 24 i vattnet och 8-12 sekundmeter. Alla parametrar är relativt konstanta över dygnet. Om de förhållandena håller i sig kan vi få en riktigt snabb, blöt, varm, solig och spännande resa runt banan.
