Varje onsdag från första maj till sista september seglas kvällsköret i Laser hos Mälarhöjdens Kanotsällskap. Det blir totalt 21 seglingar och förra året snittade man 41 båtar på startlinjen. Som mest startade 55 båtar en och samma onsdag. Efter nio seglingar i år ligger snittet på 42 startande. Den 20:e maj var vi hela 48 båtar på linjen!

Konceptet är enkelt. Det ska vara kul! Och, just det, enkelt. Starten går exakt 18:00 och sker med hjälp av så kallad har-start. Banan seglas fem eller sex varv beroende på vindförhållande och banlängd. Medlemmarna turas om att vara funktionärer, en gång var per år. Funktionärerna lägger banan, sköter starten, agerar protestkommitté och för målprotokoll. Vid cirka 19:10 går man i mål och seglar in för bastubad och eftersnack. Ibland blir det korvgrillning eller, som nu i onsdags, reggae och öl till självkostnadspris.
