Idag var det dags för Luciaköret hos MKS och också invigning av mitt nya seglarställ. Eller är det en räddningsdräkt? Tanken föddes egentligen när jag seglade på Vättern en riktigt kall lördag i höstas. Fem grader ute, tio i vattnet och kuling. Riktigt ruggigt helt enkelt. Fastän jag hela tiden tänker på att alltid dra igen muddar kring handleder och fötter lyckas jag på nåt sätt alltid få in vatten innanför kläderna. Den sista timmen på Vättern kände jag mig obehagligt kall och väl i hamn var underställen rejält blöta. Inte konstigt att man fryser då.

När jag på båtmässan i november hittade Ursuits Geronimo Active blev jag riktigt sugen. Jag behövde ju ändå en torrdräkt för vintersegling i Lasern. Och eftersom den är tvådelad med byxor och jacka borde den funka utmärkt på en kölbåt såväl under lättare som tuffare förhållanden. I lättare förhållanden kan man använda enbart byxorna och en enklare skaljacka. Samtidigt är man beredd att växla upp klädseln snabbt genom att ta på jackan/smocken och knäppa ihop den med byxorna. Plötsligt har man på sig ett helt tätt men andande seglarställ och räddningsdräkt.

Jag brukar alltid bli grymt varm under racen för att huttra lite kallsvettigt däremellan. Men nu var klimatet mer jämnt. Förhoppningsvis berodde det på dräktens andningsförmåga. Ska bli kul att se hur det funkar om man håller igång under lite längre tid.

Trots rejält plaskande i hamnbassängen och en del svettande ute på banan kunde jag ta av mig ett helt torrt underställ. Fräscht!

Och hur var tävlingen då? Jo, fina förhållanden som vanligt. 25 båtar på linjen. Nord 4 sekundmeter och växlande väder. Vi bjöds på några regnskurar men även solen tittade fram mellan andra och tredje racet. Själv seglade jag ihop en serie om 23, 13 och 12. Återstår att se vad det blir i totalen.
